Janeen & Leon: Through the Eyes of My Wife
Posted by frank on June 30, 2006 at 06:26:44 AM
Don't you just love being the 2nd shooter? In this case, my wife was the 2nd shooter for this beautiful wedding. Whenever you're a 2nd shooter, there's not much pressure on getting the "key" shots. She was the free bird to be creative! Throughout the wedding, I haven't paid attention to any of her shots. And normally she would show me a few images on her LCD screen...but on this day, she kept it all to herself. When we finally reached home, she immediately stated that she wanted her images to be downloaded right away. To make the long story short, the images she captured blew me away. I nearly fell off my chair! What more can I say about my wife...she is just all around amazing (shes a REAL keeper and I'm lucky to call her my wife). Her images came to life right before my eyes. From image after image, each told it's own story. Composition, lighting, and for her being at the right place at the right time...She says it's Luck. But being consistent from one wedding to another...you figure it out. Her favorite image is the one with the beams of light as if God was pouring His blessings over Janeen and Leon. VEGAS = FUN = LOSER = GAINED WEIGHT
Posted by frank on June 29, 2006 at 03:25:10 AM
Kim and I had such a wonderful vacation. Our one year anniversary was a blast. Can you imagine 10 days in Vegas? We almost ran out of things to do (and almost ran out of money the first night!). Just to sum it up here's what we did. Party like Rock Stars! Eat like a King and Queen! Shop Like Movie Stars! And Lose Like Losers! Hahaha. No gains, nothing! The only thing we gained was some weight! Overall, it was great fun. Shopped at three Outlet Malls, ate at 5 Buffets, saw 3 shows, visited the Hoover Dam, and cruised along Lake Mead.

Buffets:
Bellagio ~ The Buffet - 4 Stars
Alaskan King Crab was just awesome! Endless deserts! At $27 a person, you can't go wrong.

Rio ~ Seafood Village Buffet - 2 Stars
Endless selection of Seafood, but not at the best quality. $34 Not worth the price.

Main Street Station ~ Summer Seafood Buffet - 4 Stars
In my opinion, my favorite Seafood Buffet. An array of seafood, complemented with traditional and hawaiian food. Being that I am a seafood eater, I kept going back to the carving station for more Brisket. Probably the best I have ever tasted. $16 per person.

Stratosphere ~ Courtyard Buffet - 4 Stars
Food quality was great, service was awesome and the snow crabs were just perfect. You can tell the crab is good when the meat is firm and not crumbly. I mastered the art on cracking crab legs. Felt as if I was at home. $17 per person.

Palace Station ~ The Gourmet Feast - 4 Stars
Talk about a home cooked meal in front of your eyes. I had my pasta made in front of me at their famous action station. Not your typical Seafood Buffet, but more traditional American Southern food. I enjoyed this buffet, but wasn't able to try everything they had to offer. Big mistake, the first thing I ate was a whole plate of Pasta. Go figure. Can't go wrong with $7 per person.

Shows:
MGM Grand ~ KÀ Cirque du Soleil - 5 Stars
Freaking amazing. You gotta go see it. It's one of most amazing things I ever seen LIVE.

Wynn ~ Le REVE - 5 Stars
Same as above. Freaking cool. Get ready to get wet! Bring a towel. Bald people beware. 8-)

Stratosphere ~ American Superstars - 5 Stars
I almost believed it was them. Talented group impersonating superstars like Michael Jackson, Tim McGraw, Christina Aguilera, etc. A must see. I think this fake Michael Jackson is better than the real one.

Michelle & John
Posted by frank on June 29, 2006 at 01:58:44 AM
Michelle and John had a such a beautiful wedding. I remember when I first met up with Michelle, she was a very kind hearted soul. We connected and I knew her images on her wedding day would be beautiful. On the day of, she wore a vintage off white laced wedding dress accessorized with a long veil that touched the floor. And to top it off, she wore a tiara symbolizing being the "princess of the day". John wore a suit and looked as sharp as if he just jumped out of the GQ Magazine. Flower arrangements was designed by the amazing florist, Fong Tagawa of Floral Inspirations. The day unfolded so beautifully that I always skip a beat whenever I view their images. Also, not to forget, John's son was the most handsomest, cutest ring bearer in the world. Thank you to Nancy who connected us. And to Michelle and John, it was a true honor to be there to help capture the most beautiful day of your lives. Kim and I give your our best. Here are some of your images.

Posted by frank on June 11, 2006 at 11:40:55 PM
Okay, the time has arrived when Kim and will make our one year wedding anniversary ( June 18 ). Wow, already one year? Time surely flew by really quick. It felt like yesterday when we tied the knot. Anyway, I am here at the airport (actually paid for internet access ) waiting to board our plane. As a gift for our anniversary, I got ourselves a vacation package for 10 days. At least this time around (went to Vegas last year - 3 days only) we'll be able to do all the sight seeing, shopping and eating (Bellagio Buffet here we come!) we wanted to do.

Stephanie & Travis
Posted by frank on June 11, 2006 at 01:08:06 AM
If you don't know them yet, they are both probably one of the kindest, laidback and loving couple you could ever meet. Energetic and sweet, handsome and beautiful. Stephanie and Travis had an amazing wedding. The day unfolded so beautifully while friends and family witness the two hearts become as one. Everything was in place, the weather was holding up but drizzled just enough to cool the muggy air. It was a long and fun day capturing laughter, smiles, tears and the many details that represented the celebration of their love. My wife and I enjoyed every minute of it. It's amazing when you feel really close to a couple, they become an open book. Emotions and the their true personality becomes unleashed. And with that said, it felt as if I knew them for a lifetime and for me being there to photograph their weddinig meant a lot to me. It was a truly and honor to be there. And Steph, at least this time we were no where near nature (inside joke)... Oh and I almost forgot to mention, Stephanie "hands down" breaks the record for having the longest train I ever witnessed. Her dress was simply beautiful. Click on the read more link to view how their wedding day unfolded.... read and view more images

Posted by frank on June 02, 2006 at 01:31:00 AM
So this is part two of their wedding. Instead it being my images, these were captured by my beautiful wife. She is my 2nd set of eyes, my 2nd shooter. She is amazing behind the camera capturing emotions, details and angles which I never thought of or seen. It's awesome to see a wedding from a different set of eyes. These are her images from their beautiful wedding. Click on the read more link to see more images.

Susan & Shane
Posted by frank on June 01, 2006 at 12:10:56 PM
Being a wedding photographer, I sometimes have these flash backs of my own wedding. And with Susan & Shane's wedding, it totally reminded me of mine. Not many weddings allow you to go close to the bride and groom while the ceremony is in session, but with this wedding, I was able to get up really close. Close enough that I could listen as they both stated their vows. I was moved, I could feel all the emotions that they were going through. And the best part of their wedding (goose bumps - chicken skin in Hawaii) was during the kiss. It drizzled just enough for a beautiful rainbow to appear. It was amazing. The last time I ever seen a wedding with a rainbow was during my wedding. I had such a great time with Susan & Shane. Very fun, affectionate and loving couple. And their family? Just amazing. Just an awesome time to spend celebrating with this beautiful family. I was welcomed and I felt as if I was a part of them. This is one wedding I always hold close to my heart as it almost hit home similar to my wedding. Click on the read more link to view more images.

Jaymie, a native of Hawaii and Audrey, born in raised in Connecticut (but now both reside in NY) has just made their one year wedding anniversary. Congratulations!. As a gift to themselves, they flew to Hawaii to visit friends and family. Also as a gift, they have decided to do a one year anniversary photoshoot. Man, what more can I say about this couple. Very energetic and easy to work with and as they were willing to do anything I want. Thanks to Jaymie (what size is you pawnty? Sucker for Silhouettes
Posted by frank on June 01, 2006 at 01:44:37 AM
I am a sucker for Silhouttes. I love it. For some reason, I have always had the tendency to shoot towards the light. Some people hate it, some people love it. I really can't explain it. Here is a collection of Silhouettes I put together for you to view. Some of the shots are in association while shooting at REVE Photography and a few of them were on my own. If you like them, click on the read more link, if you don't like them, click on the read more link. hehe.... read and view more images

Angela+Ronie: Wedding Part 2 Frank's Captures
Posted by frank on June 01, 2006 at 01:28:19 AM
Okay, part one was all about my wife. She did an awesome job capturing the day as it unfolded for Angela & Ronie. For me, this was an awesome wedding. I had sooo much fun photographing the bridal party. We even litterally stopped traffic in downtown Honolulu to get a shot I always wanted. And did we pull it off? We definitely did. We even did it over and over just to get it right. I felt bad at the moment, but later in the day as I kept thinking about...I had no regrets. (: Angela and Ronie was such an amazing couple. Everytime I zoomed into their faces, there was always a smile at the end of the lens. And did I mention B-boying and Break dancing? Boy could the guys breakdance...hence representing "Rock Steady Crew" Hawaii. Freaking awesome. Thanks Angela and Ronie! You guys rock! I loved every moment of your wedding. Thanks for letting me be a part of it. Click on the read more button below to view more images.

Jennifer+Allan: Wedding
Posted by frank on June 01, 2006 at 12:58:25 AM
Okay, I get this email from a fellow photographer (Floyd Palitang - amazing wedding photographer from LA) and it goes like this. Hey Frank, what you doing next week Monday, April 17. Are you available to shoot a wedding on Kauai? My really good friend is getting married on Kauai (destination wedding) and I recommended you. You gotta do it! Well, that's not exactly how it went..but pretty close. (: I'm thinking (scratchin my head), whoah, were like 4 days away! Anyway, to make it short, I got confirmation 1 day prior, I fly to Kauai Monday and shoot a small beautiful and itimate wedding. This wedding was special to me because I've always dreamed of shooting a wedding at the little green church in Hanalei ~ Waiole Hu'ia Church. Well, say I lived the dream. Jennifer and Allan was the most kindest people you can ever get to meet. Really laid back and so easy to work with. And their family? Wow..they were so kind and friendly! Very lovable people! I say majority of the family is from the mainland and they all flew down to witness this amazing couple get married at this beautiful church. I am so honored that I was able to photograph this wedding. Thanks to Floyd for connecting us. I will never forget the beautiful wedding at the green church in Hanalei.
