Linda's Birthday Outing (sister-in-law)
|
Korean barbeque at it's best (You cook it ~ Yakiniku Style). If you're ever in Honolulu, you gotta try Camelia's Buffet (2 locations). One of the most tastiest Korean barbeque where you become the cook! So it's up to you how you cook it. Anyway, we all had a blast eating it up at Camelia's celebrating Linda's 29th birthday! Talk about fullness! No room to even breath. It would hurt whenever I inhaled. I'm sure all of us experienced the same. Hope you had a wonderful time Linda! Happy Birthday! And to all you folks out there, be sure to use 2 pairs of chopsticks; one for eating, one for cooking. Here's a few pictures of us pigging out.
You be jelling, we be jellin..
Starting from the top, left to right: Linda, Nancy, Erin, Mom and Kim all having a wonderful time stuffing themselves.

Amazing Hike ~ Makapuu Lighthouse
|
OK OK, this is way long overdue. This was an amazing sunrise hike/fishing adventure that Kim, myself, Kit, Melvin and Minh planned. On July 4th, 2006, we woke up at 3am in the morning, packed our goods and headed to the Makapuu Lighthouse. We started our hike at about 4:30am in the mornin! Way tooo early for me. Watching the sunrise from on top was amazing! At that time I wished I brought my other camera but was forced to bring Kim's little point and shoot camera. There was no way that I would be able to carry my camera gear along with my fishing gear. Unfortunately our fishing wasn't successful. We came home with nothing, but was thrilled to experience sunrise at the Makapuu Lighthouse. You should try it one day.

365 Days Old Cake - Way Overdue Blog Entry
|
Not really 365 days, maybe a little more. It is said that it’s tradition to eat your wedding cake during your one year anniversary. So after one year, Kim and I decided we eat our cake. We were first both very skeptical and hesitant. In my head I was like “oh man…do we have to?” Well, we did it. It wasn’t too bad. Not to bad that it only took us one bite. And with the rest, we just simply thrashed it. Thankfully, we did not end up sitting on our thinking throne.

Team Pablo: Love At First Type
|
When I first met up with Christina & Patrick, it seemed as if we've already known each other for years. They were one of the most mellow and friendliest people you could ever meet. Patrick a native of Hawaii and Christina a native of San Diego has a very unique love story. It is said that they've found each other in the Yahoo Personals. After email after email and after chat after chat, there was a spark that lit up the love they have for each other. Patrick listened to his heart and found his way to San Diego to start a new life with Christina. And after a year and half later, Patrick proposed. And now we are all here celebrating their new life together as husband and wife. Kim and I are truly honored to have photographed your wedding. Thank you to Chrisina and Patrick for letting us be part of the most importantt day of your lives. You both will always have a place in our hearts.
BTW: There's a rumor that they have already known each other prior, but I'll leave that for another story.

Halalu Fishing
|
What is Halalu? Halalu the Hawaiian name for baby Akule? What's Akule? Akule is also known as the big eye Scad which I think is part of the Mackeral family. Anyway, every summer there's an abundant school of Halalu around the island which stays near to the shore. To easily detect a school, just look for the black spots that are situated in one area. And you'll definitely know if there's a school when you see 20-30 fishermen lined up casting their poles out.

The Lost Shoe Engagement Session
|
Amy and Willy are very dear close friends of mine. At first, they were both nervous but after a few clicks here and there, all nervousness went away. As I always say to my couples...just relax, take a deep breath and let yourself be. And boy did they go at it so many times! Being that they're a die-hard couple, it was easy for me to suggest a few posing stunts. One of the stunts resulted losing both pairs of shoes. This will be a great story to tell on their wedding day! Thanks Amy and Willy for that awesome E-session! I can't wait for your wedding!

Methuse & Andy
|
I was priviledged to photograph this killer wedding in Los Angeles. Andy, (choiboyog) who I met on a photography forum asked if I could photograph his wedding. Knowing that he was a photographer, I was honored. I immediately said yes. I knew it was going to be huge wedding, therefore my cousin Alex (phenomenal photographer) was there to be my 2nd shooter. The ceremony was held at St. Denis Church in Ontario. It's one of the most breathtaking churches I've been in. High ceiling and beams making for awesome leading lines (for you photo dorks!).
Andy & Methuse's family welcomed us with open arms. Very kind and so accommodating that they invited us to join on the rehearsal dinner. And talk about a crowd that could party! It was just a HUGE celebration. Thank you to Methuse and Andy for making my stay a memorable one. I hope to see all of you very soon. Party on!

Rieko, Tony & Haku
|
When was the last time I cried at a wedding? It happend recently on July 16... Tony & Rieko had a beautiful wedding at the Kahala Resort. It was an amazing day with perfect weather, a nice cool breeze and sunny skies.
This energetic and lovable family made the perfect groom, bride and ring bearer. Being that they were already married, it was more of celebration then an actual wedding. It was a celebration of love which made it official that this couple was binded by love in the eyes of both sides of the family.
Fong Tagawa of Floral Inspirations did an amazing job with the ceremony site and ballroom creating a romantic athmosphere while Feli van der Pyl did an awesome job coordinating the "day of". James Chun of Crane Media simply put his magic on the screen as he showcased hightlights from the ceremony.
My most memorable moment of the day was when Tony and Rieko had their first meeting. Rieko in her beautiful white wedding dress walked down the stairs slowly inching her way behind Tony. She softly tapped his shoulder and to his surprise, he saw the most beautiful woman in the world. So many emotions was captured at that moment. The rest is history.
Thank you to Rieko, Tony and Haku for letting Kim and I photograph your wedding. It was truely an honor to be there. Here's a few images from your portrait session and click below to view the highlights of your wedding.

Through the Eyes of my Wife: Rieko & Tony
|
This was another beautiful wedding where my wife (my secret weapon) was the 2nd shooter. It is apparent that when you are the 2nd shooter, there's so much creative freedom. This is another set of hers that swept me off my feet. She's catching up really quick which means I need to step it up with my game. I am so proud of her accomplishments and I look forward to her posting her next set of images.... awesome work honey!
